If you are tired taking a trip eastbound on I-90 to shop at Ikea, your options may soon be expanded northward.

Ikea may be opening it's first in Southeastern Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee Journal is reporting that the Swedish furniture manufacturer may open a up a location in Oak Creek, WI. The store location will be right along heavily traveled I-94

The Swedish furniture and home goods chain, which has been considering the Milwaukee area for nearly a decade, has selected roughly 30 acres west of I-94 and north of W. Drexel Ave., according to a source.

Interesting side note. You'll save money at the possible Wisconsin location. The sales tax in Oak Creek is 5.6 % compared to the 9.25 % sales tax your pay in Schaumburg. That's a huge difference.

The Journal also reports that Ikea has 41 stores in the United States including a location in Bolingbrook.

Now let's work on getting a location in Rockford.
