The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA)  is hoping their video "I Am Rockford" will spread a positive message over the the negative news that has highlighted the city.

The reason for the title of the video and song being "I AM Rockford", Ron Clewer CEO of the RHA explains to WREX that said"The value of 'I am' means so much, and when we start to say 'I am' followed by positive words, that's amazing, and that's what this video does."

Their hope is that  community will come together just as many did to help create this video. Maurice A. West II, who played the piano in the video is also the Director of Career Development for Rockford University said "It's the community as a whole that will help to make Rockford great."

What do you think will creating videos of positive messages be the first step in bringing Rockford back around to become great again?

If anything, in my opinion, it certainly can't hurt. I believe what Mr. West said it's the community coming together, neighbors helping neighbors is what is going to turn this city around. We can't just sit and wait for someone else to do it, we need to start by just helping others, being kind, taking pride in where live, work and play.

If it's a series of videos and talks to help bridge the gap then let's go.
