With the holiday weekend here, many of you have the next three days to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.

Some of you will grill out on the patio, others will picnic in the park, and the rest of us will simply take this time to reflect and relax.

If you don't have any plans at all, you should consider visiting some of the Forest City's landmarks. According to a new survey published in the NY Post, 25% of us have yet to visit one iconic landmark in our own city.

Let's fix that this weekend.

Here's a list of landmarks you should definitely visit here in Rockford:

  • The William Brown Building
  • Peacock Brewery Brew House (known as Prairie Street now)
  • Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall
  • Garrison School
  • Tinker Swiss Cottage
  • Anderson Japanese Gardens
  • Nicholas Conservatory
  • Rock Cut State Park
  • The Rockmen Gardens
  • Chick House
  • The Coronado
  • Lake-Peterson House
  • Midway Theater
  • Burpee Museum of Natural History

There's even more; you can see them all here.

How many have you been to and which ones do you plan on visiting?
