Haunted Houses in the Rockford and Stateline Area [List]

Nothing is more fun on chilly October night then packing up the car with all the boys and ghouls and getting a good scare. Halloween is just around the corner,  and it's Haunted House time.  I had the opportunity to tour the Screamatorium in Poplar grove this past weekend, and had an absolute blast.

ROCKFORD AREA HAUNTED HOUSES

THE SCREAMATORIUM:  Arte Verde Garden Centre on Rt 76 in Poplar Grove, IL.
Open through November 2nd. Hours: Wed,Thur and Sundays from 7pm-11pm, Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-Midnight
This intense cutting-edge haunted house has been striking fear into the hearts of terrified visitors since 2008 and this year has once again risen the bar offering new scares, new scenes and unique special effects with over 10,000 square feet of pure TERROR. Admission is $10. Website Info HERE

TRAIL OF SCREAMS: : YMCA Camp Winnebego at 5804 N Main Street, Rockford, IL.
Open through November 2nd. Hours: Wed,Thur and Sundays from 7pm-11pm, Fridays and Saturdays 7pm-Midnight (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays)
They bill themselves as Northern Illinois' largest haunted event has terrified visitors with unique attractions, electrifying 3D artwork by world famous Stuartizm Designs, horrifying monsters, chainsaws, darkness and celebrity appearances by Gunnar "Original Leatherface" Hansen from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Kane "Jason Voorhees" Hodder from Friday the 13th. HOPPER's HAUNTED HOUSE:  11576 Route 2, Rockford,IL (On the Winnebago/Ogle County Line)
Open: October 3rd-5th,10th-12th,17th-19th,23rd-26th 28th-Nov 2nd & 7th-8th. Hours: Sun.-Thurs. 7pm-10pm; Fri.-Sat. 7pm-Midnight. Enter A World Where Life and Death are Meaningless. TWISTED CRYPT: Location: 5420 East State Street Rockford, Illinois
Open: Sept 26, 27, 28 Oct 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 23, 25, 26, 30, 31 and Nov 1. Hours: Thurs 7-10:30, Fri 7-11:30, Sat 7-11:30 and Sun 6-10. Twisted Crypt Haunted House is a 10,000 square foot all indoor attraction featuring dark mazes, live showrooms, and special effects. KARNIVAL OF KARNAGE 'DELIRIUM' : Boone County 'Scare' grounds in Belvidere.
Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Oct 3 - November 1.  Hours: 7-Midnight on Fridays/Saturdays and 7pm-10pm on Sundays. Closed Monday-Thursday. AMENTI HAUNTED HOUSE:  Egyptian Theatre: 135 N.2nd Street - DeKalb, IL.
Open: Oct 17- Nov 1. Hours Fri-Sat 7-11:30pm, Sunday 7pm-10pm. Thurs Oct 30th 7pm-10pm. Over 20 different scenes on 6 different levels. This attraction is one of the most talked about events in the DeKalb area every October. Thousands of people experience the horrors of Amenti each year.
