If, like my wife Amy, you've got fond memories of attending the recently-demolished Walker Elementary School, you're invited to grab a souvenir.

When my wife saw the news coverage of Walker School's demolition, she promptly hopped in the car and went over to take some photos and watch what was happening.

Knowing that there are thousands of you out there who also attended Walker, you may also be interested in keeping a piece of your childhood school as a memento.

From 13 WREX:

If you want to own a piece of Walker Elementary School, you have a chance to do so starting on Friday.

On that day, bricks from the school will be made available to the public. Demolition of the school started earlier in June. It has been vacant since 2016.

There will only be a limited number of bricks. They will be left in a pile outside of the construction fence. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

I have a feeling that I'm going to being seeing a brick or two lying around the house in about an hour. Maybe less.
