One excellent summertime activitiy is looking up at the stars on a nice evening.

I love to camp and one of the best parts is nighttime when you can see way more stars than you usually can while living anywhere near a city.

If you want to see some amazing stars by just going for a short drive you should plan accordingly with this light pollution map.

This is one of the cooler interactive maps I've seen. By the looks of it there's some great stargazing opportunities just southwest of Rockford between Freeport and Oregon.

Just in case you want some information on what you're looking at you should step into the way-back machine and check out some videos from Jack Horkheimer. Who's that? You know exactly who that is.
