Will this become the norm nationally? If so, I am truly scared of America's future.

Deerfield gun owners don't have much time or, apparently, options. Certain types of firearms (semi-automatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns with certain features) must be removed from their homes. If they don't comply fines will be assessed.

MyStateline.com reports, "The ban also prohibits magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition".

The residents who decide to keep their weapons could face a daily fine of $1,000 when the new ordinance goes into effect this June.

"This is our fight. This is our generation's fight, and we're going to keep fighting," Deerfield High School student Ariella Kharasch said, according to ABC-7 in Chicago. "Thank you for being part of that."

This is not going away just like that though. Gun supporters are fighting just as hard to protect their right to bare arms. This whole thing seems like a giant legal mess. Village, City, State, and Federal laws are all clashing.

"You are the bureaucrats that Thomas Jefferson warned us about," said Dan Cox, a resident of Deerfield according to MyStateline.com.

I honestly don't know if it's legal to pursue a gun owner who bought a weapon legally under every law known to man. Now, they are just expected to turn over that weapon? Good luck with that Deerfield. One day, history may show that you may have inadvertently started the next Civil War.
