If you have been closely watching gas prices, you've noticed that prices continue to fall in the area. Is the streak going to continue? How much were we paying at this time last year? Find out more here.

You're not imagining it. I took a double glance as well yesterday. For the third straight week, gas prices in Rockford have fallen. Every little bit counts.

According to GasBuddy.com, our regional average currently sits at $2.27 per gallon. Looks like it's the lowest Rockford average since gas prices fell under $2 on January 1, 2015.

However, not to burst the bubble and the parade, Rockford's average is still above the national average, which currently sits at $2.18 per gallon.

According to MyStateline.com, "Planned fall refinery maintenance had put the Midwest in the spotlight as the region hardest hit with refinery rate reductions, but as we reach November, refinery maintenance projects are beginning to wrap up."

Are you saving more in your pocket today than you were last November? You bet. Gas prices in Rockford are .74 cents per gallon lower than the same week in November 2014.

Don't spend all those savings in one place.
