The 2016 CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year, Garth Brooks returned to the CMAs stage in 2017 to perform his most recent single, "Ask Me How I Know," at the 51st annual CMA Awards ceremony in Nashville on Wednesday (Nov. 8).

Brooks took the stage in all black, from his cowboy hat to his shoes. He delivered a powerful, heartfelt performance of the song, backed by a full band. Even better: Mitch Rossell, the writer of the song, shared a microphone with Brooks.

"Ask Me How I Know" is Track No. 3 on Brooks' most recent studio album, Gunslinger. The song finds its narrator cautioning someone -- a friend, a child, a stranger in a bar -- that "one day, you'll meet the girl you swore you'd never find ... You'll push her away 'cause that's all you know how to do ... Ask me how I know."

Brooks is nominated for Entertainer of the Year again this year at the CMA Awards. His World Tour has been on the road since 2014, and he's sold more than 6 million tickets for the tour stops he's made so far. Brooks recently announced that the final North American stop on his World Tour will take place in Nashville on Dec. 16. The artist is also planning the release of a five-part multimedia anthology.
