There's few things in this world that gets my blood pumping more than dogs, especially when I see or hear about one being mistreated.

I saw this post come across my Facebook feed over the weekend, and it broke my heart. After I learned this sweetheart was a victim of a hit and run and left to die, I wanted to punch someone or something.

Thankfully there are still good people in this world who quickly stepped in to help this dog, and rushed him to Freeport Animal Hospital for life-saving treatment.

WTVO talked to some of the people working hard to save this innocent life, and who say the dog should make a complete recovery in the next few weeks.

I can't help but feel like this dog should be named Lucky, and I can only hope he finds a home soon with plenty of patience and love to get him through and above the suffering he has had to overcome.

To the person that hit him and left him for dead, shame on you. Believe me when I say I have way worse things to say to you in my head, but this is not the place to do that. I hope you feel like complete 💩 for what you have done.
