Free Flags for Veterans Are Available Memorial Day [Video]

A program that has been around Rockford for 33years is back again, giving out free flags to decorate our veterans graves.

Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Lee Hartsfield and recording him for a Memorial Day commercial that our stations will be airing this weekend.

He is a very interesting man, who he himself served our country in the navy 1944 during W.W.II. He's 90 years young and is wanting to keep the tradition of flags to honor our fallen heroes for their service and sacrifice to our country.

As we all look forward to our three day weekend the opening of the summer, let us not forget those who have served our country to grant us the freedoms we have today and please stop by and visit the "Field of Honor AT 100 Heart Blvd in Loves Park.

I truly hope Mr. Hartsfield desire to raise $25,000 for the free flags happens so that the other match of $25,000 comes in and we can always have a wonder program and gesture to honor those who have served our country.
