If you're dying to get a hold of season passes to Six Flags forget heading to St. Louis.

You can take the Coffin Challenge at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee.

Apparently, the challenge "generated so much interest that [Six Flags] expanded [it] to all parks."(ABC7)

Last week Lil' Zim wondered if the creepy coffin challenge could possibly come to Gurnee, well she, and we, have to wonder no more.

The 30 Hour Coffin Challenge is coming to Six Flags Great America.

According to their Facebook page, the 30 Hour Coffin Challenge will be held Oct 20th - Oct. 21st.

"Six coffin dwellers will be chosen to spend 30 hours in a coffin, from 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 20 until 7:00 pm on Sunday October 21."

If you are chosen of one of the six coffin dwellers here are the rules you'll nee to follow:

"Coffin dwellers will be allowed to bring a friend along during Fright Fest operating hours, but they must brave the non-operating hours alone. Well, not exactly alone, some of our Fright Fest Freaks will be lurking about in the darkness. Anyone who gets out of their coffin for any reason, with the exception of the designated bathroom breaks, will be out of the contest."

If you brave the whole 30 hours in the coffin you will win:

  • $300
  • Two 2019 Gold Season Passes
  • A Fright Fest Prize package including two Express Haunted House passes
  • A ticket for two to ride in the Uprising Parade
  • Their coffin! That's right - the handcrafted coffin is yours to keep!

Umm, Gee, my own coffin. I'm not thinking I'd want that but the season passes I would.

One of the saving measures is you can have you phone with you and you will get a chance to charge it during your allowed bathroom breaks. (ABC7) Whew! that would help in the evening hours to while away the time and distract you from the Fright Fest Freaks roaming about.

My biggest concern is they don't mention that when you're in the coffin if the lid is completely closed the whole time or is it open?

If if were open during the day light hours I think I could handle it, but if it were closed th whole time I'm pretty sure I'd get claustrophobic.

I unfortunate won't participate in this challenge because I already purchased my season passes for next year.

You however can, if you're daring you need to register by October 10th through Six Flags Great America's website. Click here to find out all that's required.
