Tuesday was a day most residents of Central Illinois will never forget as tornadoes ravaged several towns.

Tornadoes took two lives in Illinois on Tuesday, as deadly storms passed through north central Illinois. The Chicago Tribune reports that the tornado registered as EF-3 (136 -165 mph winds) on the Enhanced Fujita scale. The tornado caused substantial damage to the town of Naplate. Also, an EF-1 tornado (86-110 mph winds) struck Oregon, Ill
