Flash Flood Warnings issued For Winnebago, Boone, DeKalb and McHenry Counties
Torrential rains and downpours in the Stateline area have caused the National Weather Service to issue Flood Warnings for the area.
The NWS has issued Flash Flood Warning including Belvidere IL, Marengo IL, Genoa IL until 11:00 PM CDT. Winnebago County until 11:15 p.m.
The national Weather service says that pp to 1.5" of rain have already fallen with reports of flooding beginning in the Rockford area.
The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 11:00 p.m. for:
- NORTHERN DE KALB COUNTY
- SOUTHERN BOONE COUNTY
- SOUTHWESTERN MCHENRY COUNTY
WINNEBAGO COUNTY is under the Flash Flood Warning until 11:15pm
* AT 506 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING
TORRENTIAL RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. ONE AND A HALF TO THREE
INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN ACROSS A LARGE PART OF THE
WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.
Locations impacted by the Flood Warning include:
- Belvidere
- Marengo
- Genoa
- Kirkland
- Kingston
- The Boone County Fairgrounds
THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND DRAINAGES...COON
CREEK...MOSQUITO CREEK...SPRING CREEK...AND OTHER TRIBUTARIES TO THE
KISHWAUKEE RIVER.
INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING INTERSTATE...
I-90 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 41 AND 60.
