I am very fortunate to have made it to Music City USA, which is better known as Nashville, Tennessee.

If you are thinking about a weekend getaway and want to check out this great city, here are five reasons why:

1. THE FOOD

If there is one thing I loved about Nashville, it was the selection of places that you could go and get a great meal. One of those places is Hattie B's. If you love fried chicken and like it hot, then this is your place. Of course, there are BBQ places all over the place.

2. THE NIGHTLIFE

If you love live music, then Nashville is the place to be. Almost every bar on "the strip" has live music every night. One of my favorite places was The Second Fiddle. This place was so cool to be in. I never heard of the person playing, but you can check out what famous people have been there. Speaking of famous people, you never know what bar a musician could be playing at unannounced.

3. THE ATTRACTIONS

With the history of County music, it is a must to go to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. That was something I never went to, but I hope to make it there the next time I go. Then there is the Grand Old Opry, The Johnny Cash Museum and RCA Studio B. There are plenty of other music attractions, as well at art galleries and sporting events, including the Nashville Predators, which you will find Carrie Underwood cheering on her husband.

4. THE SCENERY

According to Parents.com, there are some beautiful places to see during the fall.

"Nashville has events year-round, but fall is definitely the best time for families. It's a lot less crowded, and the weather is mild, so you and your kids won't be zapped by the humidity. If you time your trip right, you'll be in town to catch the leaves changing color. The Ganier Ridge Loop Trail will take you through the Nashville hills, where trees turn amazing shades of red, gold, and orange. If you're up for a short hike, the city has four nature centers that have easy trails for kids."

5. THE PEOPLE

Nashville is in the South, and that means you will find some Southern comfort. In fact, 2015 saw Nashville named the friendliest city in a Travel and Leisure survey.

Now with all of those reasons, here is a bonus reason. The 50th CMA Awards take place on November 2nd. The show takes place at the Bridgestone Arena. Would you like to go?
