If you are looking for somewhere to stay around the Rockford area and you don't want to stay in a hotel, there is a website for that. 

Airbnb is a website that allows you to stay in a private home or apartment, or lets a home owner rent out a room for extra money, which is an alternative to staying in a hotel or your relatives couch for a couple of days.

I found the five most expensive rentals around the area. Four are in Wisconsin and one is in Illinois.
