Facebook Group Formed to save Rural Steet Schnucks Grocery Store

A Facebook group and petition group has been organized to show support for keeping the Rural St. Schnucks store store open.

On May 1st, Schnuck Markets, Inc. announced plans to permanently close two Rockford locations

-2514 South Alpine Road
-1715 Rural Street in Rockford

Both stores are scheduled to close on Saturday, May 31.

Schnucks says they're closing the stores due to "low sales" and "costly operation."

The Facebook Group SOS - Save Our Schnucks (Rural St.) has over 2600 members and hopes to to convince the company to save at least the Rural street location .
