Expect Lots of Police Activity on One Northern Illinois Tollway This Week

Motorists, be advised, a highly traveled toll road in Northern Illinois will be brimming with cops through Friday.

If you travel on I-94 from Illinois through Wisconsin you may want to exercise extreme caution this week as Illinois State Police will be stepping up enforcement efforts this week. Police will be targeting truck drivers

State police in Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan are staging a coordinated enforcement operation along I-94 and other interstates this week from Dec 4 - 8.

During this initiative, state police will focus on violations by commercial vehicles. Officials say that these vehicles are:

most likely to contribute to a crash, including speeding, following too close, improper passing, distracted driving and improper lane use.

I-94 is considered to be the tollway that is most prone to weather related accidents. Crashes often involve truck drivers.
