Instead making banana bread or muffins with a couple of spotty banana I had in the kitchen, I made a tasty cake that combines the classic combination of chocolate and banana that everyone enjoys.

It's quick and easy to make as well so that's a big plus with me. I don't like spending forever in kitchen to make something.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine bananas, egg, melted butter and milk.
  4. Stir banana mixture into flour mixture until blended. Be careful not to over mix.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean. (It will have some melted chocolate, but no crumbs.)
