One Rockford restaurant says goodbye while a new one flips the "open" sign for the first time right down the street.

A young Rockford restaurant in downtown shared a disappointing Facebook post letting residents know they have closed for good due to "unforeseen circumstances."

A fellow downtown downtown business owner told rrstar.com the owners of Sienna's Kitchen told him sales had been down recently, which lead to the closing. It's really too bad their time downtown was so short but, on the flip side, a new restaurant opened it's door almost directly across the street.

After months of anticipation a new Rockford dining option has opened next to the new trendy The Standard and it's called Taco Betty's. I haven't popped by yet but based on their "about me" on Facebook,

Modern tacos, beer, large format cocktails, urban setting downtown rockford, lively atmosphere.

and pictures like this...

... it will likely be one of my "must eat" Rockford places.

Check back soon for a full review and pictures of the food.
