As a purveyor of all things delicious tasting, I was surprised that I have never tried it.

In a new article on MSN featuring all 50 states in the U.S. and their most popular breakfast foods, the pączki came out on top.

According to MSN, "Pączki are deep-fried Polish pastries" and something I have never had in my life.

Essentially pączki are raspberry donuts.

What I don't understand is how I grew up my entire life on the northwest side of Chicago in a primarily Polish neighborhood without ever having tried or heard of pączki.

In case you were wondering, Iowa's favorite breakfast is Muscatine Melons while Wisconsin's was the kringle.

Have you had a pączki? Do you think it is Illinois favorite breakfast? If not what is?
