"Possibilities", a song inspired a St. Jude patient

How we love the many success stories. Today and tomorrow is the annual Q98.5 St Jude Children's Research Hospital Radiothon.

This is the story of Brennon and his parents, Turner and Tara. Mom and dad know that their son is a fighter and a survivor. Brennon won a long, difficult fight against acute myeloid leukemia.

St Jude reports that with Brennan’s cancer in remission, his dad, Turner,  decided to help give back to St. Jude — the hospital that helped save Brennan’s life — through a very special song he wrote called “Possibilities.”

Shortly after Brennan’s third bone marrow transplant, Turner sat down and wrote the song’s lyrics. “Brennan’s health was probably at the worst it’s been,” Turner said. “Joe Stevenson, my friend and the song’s co-writer, encouraged me to write a song about what was happening, and there was an army of people from Augusta to Nashville who helped us.”

Writing “Possibilities” was therapy for Turner. But soon it turned into something much more.

For Turner, the song is about maintaining hope in the face of the seemingly impossible. “It’s about gratitude and the gifts we always have, regardless of our circumstances,” he said. “It’s a song about faith, friends, family and possibilities.”

Darius Rucker got on board and recorded the song along with some St Jude patients
