Construction on US 20 to Start Today

If you have to go back to work today, expect possible delays on US 20 near Cherry Valley.

WREX-TV is reporting that  I.D.O.T has announced that construction work will take place starting today and last through October. The project involves painting the bridges carrying US 20 over the Kishwaukee River just east of Mill Road.

• Westbound: The US 20 bridge will be reduced to one lane in order to paint portions bridge
• Eastbound: There will also be intermittent closures of the right lane on the eastbound US 20 bridge to allow for building of the support system under the structure.

Drivers, please remember to slow down and use caution when traveling through construction zones.
