When you live in Rockford, there's one day a year you look forward to the most.

It's not Christmas, Independence or Labor Day, it's not even our very own "815 Day."  Wanna take a stab at what it is?

It's opening day of Rockford's City Market.

For months we yearn for it, save for it and plan for it, and now, after years of wondering if it would ever happen, Rockford is getting an indoor city market that will be open year round.

According to WREX, construction has begun with the hopes of the market being open by this fall.

This news begs to ask the question, which vendors would you love to see there?

Here's a few that we came up with.

  • Wonderland Sweets
  • Candle Crest
  • Olive Oil Experience (We know they're closed, but we would love them to come back)
  • Nothing Bundt Cakes
  • Yada Yada Crepes
