The right to conceal carry has been the law of the land in Illinois for three years, and now comes word that locations for concealed carry could be expanded in Illinois.

The State Journal Register is reporting that Illinois lawmakers are in the process of revising the Illinois' concealed carry law to expand the locations where permit holders are allowed to carry a concealed weapon. Proposed locations include:

  • Public transportation
  • Courthouses (Under certain conditions)
  • Interstate highway rest areas
  • Public parks
  • Athletic facilities

Not everyone is in favor of the proposed expansion The Illinois Council against Handgun Violence has gone on record against the new measures

As of now these are proposals and have not become law, yet. The measures have to go before both cambers of the Illinois legislature and be signed by the Governor.
