There is some new construction at I-90 and Riverside and there's a Christmas tree nestled way at the top.

Honestly, I've never thought much about it but there is a reason. According to Equipment World, the tree has plenty of different meanings but it mostly:

Symbolizes positive things—good luck for future occupants, continued growth, a safe job—and celebrates an important achievement in a building’s construction."

There are other sites like the Metal Construction Association blog that believe the tree celebrates something more Christmas-y, like child birth:

The tradition of an evergreen atop a structure was started to represent new birth, as the Christmas tree represents the birth of the baby Jesus."

So which is it? Do you know someone who works construction? Why is there a tree at the top of the building? What do you think? Let us know.
