Elite Travel released their list of the top 100 places to eat in the world and Chicago had not one but three restaurants land on it.

One of those restaurants named made the top spot at #1.

So which eatery is the best in the world?

Alinea on Halsted in Chicago (NBC Chicago)

This restaurant was number two last year but has now taken the top honor as being the best in the world to dine at.

The other Chicago restaurants that landed on the top 100 list are "Next, located at 953 W. Fulton Market", which took 41st place for the second year in a row and "Smyth and The Loyalist, at 177 N. Ada St.,[taking] 96th place."

According to NBC Chicago, this is the first time for Smyth and Loyalist to be considered and they made the list.

What's so significant about these restaurants is that the chef of Alinea, Grant Achatz, is also the chef and creator for Next. Next is known for changing their menu every four months.

Smyth and The Loyalist are known for being a two floored restaurant, with Smyth on the top floor. Each restaurant serves entirely different menus. Smyth is known to have 5, 8 and 12 course meals and The Loyalist  has an "a la carte menu and a cheeseburger called the “Dirty Burg” that last year made Bon Appetit’s shortlist of the three best burgers in the country."

Interesting I'd love to check thse places out.

However I'm thinking my wallet could only afford The Loyalist. Haha!

I'd be ok with that.

Who's ready for a road trip?
