If you're suffering from an extreme case of Spring fever, grab the family and take advantage of temps in the 50's this Saturday at Rockford Meltfest.

I've only been doing this Mom thing for about 3 and a half years now, but the thing I learned real fast was that taking advantage of every free, kid friendly event in  Rockford is a super smart thing to do. It keeps the kids happy and entertained, your sanity in tact, and your budget on track. It's an even bigger plus when an event has SO MUCH  family fun to offer. Just look at all this cool stuff going on at Rockford Melfest this Saturday:

  • Free ice skating and skate rental at Riverview Ice House
  • Free trolley rides (weather permitting)
  • Musical performances
  • Kids activities including crafts, scavenger hunts, balloon animals, magic, science and juggling shows
  • In water kayaking at YMCA
  • Group Bike Ride
  • Free kids fun run
  • Food and vendor booths and more

Rockford Meltfest takes place Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the Prairie Street Brewhouse and surrounding areas in downtown Rockford. Admission is free, and the event will be packed if Mother Nature cooperates. You can get more information at meltfest.com or RSVP to their Facebook event page here.

Here's a look a just a it of the fun had at last year's Rockford Meltfest....
