It's a holiday favorite and a tradition for many. Last year in 2014, it stopped in Byron, Illinois. Will it be nearby this year? Here's the newly released schedule. 

 

Thousands of families gather to see the most incredible spectacular Holiday Train in America. It's the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. It travels through communities from November 27, and hits 150 stops.

The closest stops to the Rockford area this year are in Gurnee, Illinois Friday, December 4, at 3:50 p.m. and the other will be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. Here's the complete local schedule.

The concerts that accompany the train are free, but the community is asked to donate a non-perishable food item for local food banks.

According to Canadian Pacific, "The "US Train" visits communities across the U.S. Northeast and Midwest, and returns back to Canada for shows in Saskatchewan and Alberta. ​

So make plans now for a road trip and don't forget your camera and a food donation.
