Stateline area domestic violence victims have a true superhero duo protecting them, and their names are Bob and Victoria Kuzlik.

October is national Domestic Violence Awareness month, and a Dad and daughter team from Byron, started the "Coats for Hope" campaign in 2015 to collect coats and money for area domestic violence victims. They were able to raise over $5,000 and collect 1,000 cold weather items in 2015, and 7th grader, Victoria Kuzlik has BIG aspirations for 2016. She is hoping to donate items to 5 different area shelters and collect $20,000, and so far, she's on track. She even caught the attention of Ellen Degeneres who wants to help this year!

As a parent, I hope my girls will be as extraordinary and giving as Victoria is at such a young age. If you would like to make a donation to her campaign check out the coatsforhope.org website now through December 3, 2016.

Go get 'em Victoria! Stateline area domestic violence victims are lucky you have their backs!
