The people have spoken--at least the people who voted at IllinoisTop200--and the John Belushi/Dan Aykroyd 1980 hit is the top movie in our state's history. Let the arguments begin.

As part of Illinois' bicentennial celebration, IllinoisTop200 is taking your votes on all kinds of "top things" in our state. The latest, in which voting just closed, was to come up with Illinois' top ten favorite movies set in Illinois.

Here's what Illinoisans have decided are the best "Illinois-based" movies:

  1. The Blues Brothers
  2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
  3. A League of Their Own
  4. The Fugitive
  5. The Untouchables
  6. The Sting
  7. Chicago
  8. Eight Men Out
  9. Hoop Dreams
  10. Ordinary People

The project lets Illinoisans vote every two weeks on the best movies, most inspiring leaders, greatest books, top businesses and much more. By the state’s 200th birthday on December 3rd, voters will have chosen 10 favorites in 20 different categories – the Illinois Top 200.
