Brett Eldredge returns to reign at the top of the country music charts with his current single "Drunk On Your Love," which reached No. 1 this week. This marks his fifth consecutive single to hold that position.

“This is a special one,” Eldredge shares in a press release. “I wrote this song back before I had one number one, let alone five! I always wanted it to be a single one day and now it’s at the top of the charts! I am constantly floored by the amazing support from my fans and country radio. Grateful is an understatement!”

The 30-year-old country singer posted to Instagram to show his gratitude to all those who made this feat possible.

This is the song that wasn't almost, though. The hit was one of the very last songs recorded for his sophomore project, but because fans loved the song so much, Eldredge and his label decided that it had to make the cut.

"Drunk On Your Love" is the follow-up single to his smash hit "Lose My Mind," both of which were released off Eldredge's second album, Illinois, which hit shelves last fall.

Eldredge is gearing up to hit the road this summer along side Maren Morris, as they open for Keith Urban on his Ripcord Tour. The trek will kick off June 2 in Kansas City, Mo., and run through more than 50 cities before it wraps in November.

Before road-tripping with Morris and Urban, though, Eldredge will take the stage to perform at the 2016 ACM Awards, which air this Sunday (April 3).
