Firefighters in Bolingbrook, Illinois got a nice surprise the other day. They are grateful for the kindness.

The Bolingbrook Firefighters typically chip in $10 for groceries every morning to cover their meals at the firehouse. They raise somewhere between $40 and $50 for the day.

While shopping, they received a call, told the cash register gal to hold the items and ran to do what they are trained to do.

According to WGNTV.com, when they finally returned to the Supermarket for their items, a Good Samaritan paid the $50 tab and wrote a note thanking them for their service.

The firefighters’ union is already paying it forward by making a $100 donation to a local food pantry.
