If you shop at Schnucks, and have recently bought some blue cheese from one these three local stores, this is information you will want to know!

According to U.S. Food and Drug Administration, various sizes of Maytag brand blue cheese purchased between February 4 and February 29, 2016 may  be contaminated with Listeria bacteria, and need to be disposed of immediately.

This possibly contaminated blue cheeses were sold locally at the Schnucks stores on East State Street in Rockford, on Harlem Road in Loves Park, and on Hononegah Road in Roscoe. The FDA urges customers to check the following products purchased between 02/04/16 and 02/29/16:

  1. Maytag Blue Cheese, 4 oz. wedges, UPC 0085408900104
  2. Maytag Blue Cheese, various sizes (approximately 3-4 oz) sold cut and packaged in clear plastic wrap with Maytag Blue Cheese Dairy Farms label and scale label from the cheese department, UPC 0021806200000

If you do own product contained in this recall, discard it, and then bring your receipt to the Schnucks store you purchased it at to receive a full refund.
