The Chicago Blackhawks and Rockford IceHogs announced today that the two teams will remain in an affiliation agreement through for another five years during a press conference at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

The agreement keeps the IceHogs as an AHL affiliate of the Blackhawks throught he 2021-22 season.

The Blackhawks moved their AHL affiliate to Rockford in 2007. The IceHogs started operations in Rockford in 1999 as a member of the Colonial Hockey League.

The team switched to the UHL in 1999 until the Chicago Blackhawks took over in 2007.

The IceHogs (40-22-10) finished third in the AHL's Central Division last season. The team was bounced from the first round of the playoffs after three straight losses.
