When moving to a new town, it’s all about learning what makes a true local. Sights to see, things to do and places to eat. I’ve been here about a week now, and I’m trying to bask in the culture that is Rockford. Today I took my first step.

Beef-A-Roo, A true Rockford area staple. We checked out the State Street location at noon and the place was jumping. Just Lots of people ready to get their beef on. You wouldn’t think it’s just a fast food joint upon pulling up. It was a beautiful brick building with no cartoon-like signs or goofy mascots. Inside was just as nice.

Well, when it was my turn up to the counter to order. I went with the Big Beef and I remembered my new work friends telling me you have to try the Cheddar Fries. In less than three minutes they called my number and lunch was served. I have to say it was pretty tasty. I now agree with the local obsession with Cheddar Fries. Mission accomplished, and I will definitely be back. Now on to the next step: The Coronado Theatre.
