You heard me right. The big purple dinosaur is returning to television with all new episodes in 2017, and so is everyone's favorite dancing mouse, Angelina Ballerina.

If you're the parent of a tot these days, you know that finding episodes of Barney & Friends or Angelina Ballerina is not as easy as it once was, and some may thank their lucky stars for that. My daughter has not seen much Barney, but when she does she's all a flutter with excitement over this big corny singing dinosaur. For that reason alone, I feel mild happiness over this announcement in The Hollywood Reporter:

Toy giant Mattel and Canadian animation producer 9 Story Media Group are pacting to relaunch the preschool TV brands Barney & Friends and Angelina Ballerina. The deal, involving Mattel's preschool entertainment arm Hit Entertainment, will see both series return with 26 half-hours, set to debut in 2017.

I am seeing many visions of purple and a supreme hatred of the phrase "I love you, you love me" in my future. Serenity now.
