It might be a good thing if you want to enjoy a concert, or it might be more like big brother controlling your phone.

NBC is reporting that Apple has obtained a patent to for technology that would disable the camera in your iPhone at concert venues. The video recording function of your camera would be disabled based on a command transmitted by an infrared signal.

I would call this the "Adele-effect". Many performers, including Adele, recently have been very outspoken their fans holding up their smartphones and recording videos of their concerts.

While I agree that people that hold their cell phones up in the air is quite annoying when you attend a concert, this technology in the wrong hands is scary.

Would you trust this form of of technology in the hands of the government?

It should be noted that Apple has not said whether or when they intend to incorporate this new technology in their next iPhone. We'll keep you posted.
