Nabisco Animal Crackers has had the same look for pretty much its entire existence, animals in a cage on a train headed to the circus. Now, those days are gone. Kraft Foods announced the "result of evolution" of the box now depicting the animals roaming freely. PETA is overjoyed and taking all the credit, according to CNN.

The new box for Barnum's Animals perfectly reflects that our society no longer tolerates caging and chaining exotic animals for circus shows. - PETA

The old box looked like this...

I can understand concerns over animal treatment at circuses (and even zoos) and I 100% support animal and environmental awareness, but isn't this a bit much? Are small children eating these crackers and thinking, "one day I want to catch a lion and lock it in a cage?" Probably not. If the caged images are too much for society and send the wrong message maybe companies should stop producing animal crackers altogether.
