Do you recall the old days of popping in a cassette filled with your favorite 80's tunes into your Walkman, putting on your headphones and going for a jog in the park with your favorite Bon Jovi tune?

Sad news to report: After 30 years, the Sony Walkman has been retired.

The Mashable website reports that the final batch of Sony Walkmans was shipped to Japanese retailers. Once these units are sold, new cassette Walkmans will no longer be available through Sony.

If you'll recall, the first generation Walkman was called "the Soundabout". It was released on July 1, 1979 in Japan. Over 30 years Sony reportedly sold 200 million cassette Walkmans.

There is some good news if you still crave this ancient technology, the AP reports that the devices will still be made by Chinese manufacturers and sold in the United States and the United Kingdom, so the Walkman is not quite dead yet.
