The end of the Dodge Dart is coming soon.

WIFR TV is reporting that both Automotive News and Auto Week are saying the production of the Dodge Dart will be coming to end very soon.

Unless there is a last minute miracle for the small car, production will end here towards the end of the month at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere.

Back in 2012, CEO Sergio Marchione had a plan to bring a 40 mpg car to the United States, and in his words would be a huge bust if it didn't work out. Those words are about to haunt him as sales of the car hit an all time low since the Dart came out in 2012.

Also at the Belvidere plant, the Jeep Patriot and Compass will be leaving, as the Jeep Cherokee will be built there.
