A stinkin' mess in Rockford on Sunday morning.

The Rockford Register Star is reporting that fire officials are looking for the individual who is responsible for setting a fire early Sunday morning that destroyed several porta-potties. The fire also caused damage to a car that was parked nearby.

The Newspaper reports that at 1:20 a.m. early Sunday morning, the Rockford Fire Department was contacted by BMO Harris Bank Center security guards to report smoke emanating from inside of a porta-potty located near Chestnut and Wyman streets.

Rockford's Marathon race was held on Sunday morning.

Police believe the fire was set intentionally. The fire destroyed several portable toilets. Each are estimated to cost approximately $1,000 according to the Rockford Fire Dept. Officials are looking to locate the individual who is responsible.
