Halloween is fast approaching. That means families start planning where to take the kids for their sugar intake for the year. Want to get the most candy?

The website Marketwired has found out where the top ten cities for trick-or-treating will take place. They used the private social media network Nextdoor and their data to come up with this all important list that is spooky for all kids.

On the top of the list is a city that is less than an hour and a half away from Rockford. Downers Grove, Illinois is number one on the list. Another close city in the top ten is our neighbors to the north Madison, Wisconsin. They came in at number at number eight.

Here is the complete list:

  1. Downers Grove, IL
  2. Edmond, OK
  3. Midland, TX
  4. Wake Forest, NC
  5. Parker, CO
  6. Brentwood, TN
  7. Dublin, CA
  8. Madison, WI
  9. St. Louis Park, MN
  10. Silver Spring, MD

One of the neat features of the Nextdoor application is the Treat Map that allows parents to plan their whole night.

According to the article:

"This October, neighbors can use Nextdoor's Treat Map starting on October 3rd to let each other know they will be passing out candy by marking their home on their neighborhood's Treat Map with a candy corn icon. Parents and trick-or-treaters alike can use the map to plan a safe, fun Halloween night - and plan the best route to go trick-or-treating through the neighborhood to ensure a full bag of candy by the end of the night! Neighbors can also mark a haunted house icon on the Treat Map, indicating that kids can stop by for a terrifying trip through a neighbor's haunted house."

If you plan on using this, let us know if you like it or not. And as always be safe!
