A Rockford barbecue joint closed it's doors on Sunday and their reason has me mad at some people that choose to eat out.

I'm a little ticked off that a locally owned restaurant in Rockford had no option but to close their doors because they couldn't keep their prices low enough to "satisfy everyone's needs," as they worded it on Facebook.

That quote alone should make some Rockford-area restaurant goers feel bad. National chains like Red Robin that sell below-average burgers for prices starting at $10 minimum are always jam packed but buying an $8 well-portioned beef brisket sandwich with a drink and a side is too much? Really?

There are a ton of local dining options to choose from yet some many people are flocking to nothing but chains. Are you one of these people that support the national brands yet want Rockford to thrive and blossom? It's not going to happen if you don't put your money where your mouth is.

Chubby Guy's Barbecue on E. Riverside closed on Sunday, a week after announcing it on Facebook.

There is some good news, though. Chubby Guy's Barbecue will keep the catering side of their business up and running. You can find more info here. #notanadd
