A program was introduced to Rockford City Hall last week that is designed to give others, who have spent time behind bars, a second chance along with areas of Rockford neighborhoods.

As they will be trained to tear down old abandoned homes and buildings.

Wow! I think that's rather cool and so helpful. Not only will this help for those wanting to get back on their feet and become gainfully employed but it will help clean up Rockford. Getting rid of those vacant buildings would definitely make the town look better not to mention bring the value of surrounding property back up.

I really hope the city approves it and it passes on July 6th. This city needs more bright spots to outshine all the negativity it's received in the recent months of murders, and those lists that highlight all the bad things in this town.
