Rockford is a melting pot of many diverse nationalities.

A mural is going up in the Midtown area to recognize the many refugees who call this city their home.

You can see the six students from Rock Valley College's refugee program working on the mural at the corners of South Sixth Street and First Avenue.

I can't wait to take a drive over there to see it. This reminds me of high school when the senior art students painted murals throughout the school as part of their senior year final project.
