A new report revealed 71% of all young adults are not eligible to serve in the military in the United States. This information might indicate a need for an education overhaul with an emphasis on physical education.

According to Council For A Strong America, Illinois is actually no the highest in the country for "young Americans" ineligible to serve our country. Wisconsin and 34 the other states have more people between the ages of 17-24 that are ineligible. In Illinois, 70% in that age range aren't eligible to serve in the United States military.

The three primary reasons for ineligibility are:

  • They are too overweight
  • They are too poorly educated.
  • They have a record of crime or drug abuse.
