Who doesn't love ice cream? It could be 20 below and I could still crave my favorite dessert. So, since I am a new resident of the State Line, I am going to have to check out these top 5 places to get ice cream according to Yelp.

1. La Michoacana Homemade Ice Cream.

This ice cream shop, which is based on a Mexican ice cream parlor, has two locations in Rockford. One is located at 3840 C. Broadway and the other is at 609 Kishwaukee St. They serve many types of ice cream, sorbets and popsicles. According to a review on yelp, "Awesome as usual!! Favorite place ever! Super friendly and helpfull staff, still. Great new flavors of ice cream and same delicious consistency! Their fruit arrangements are beyond amaizing! At 5413 N. 2nd Ave in Loves Park is where you will find this diamond in the rough. They are open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. With two locations, at 6876 Spring Creek Road in Rockford and 1093 West Lane Road in Machesney Park, they offer many different flavors of frozen yogurt, while you feast on all the toppings on their toppings bar.
